RIU Hotels has completed the reopening of all its hotels in America. With today’s announcement of the reopening of the Riu Tequila (Playa del Carmen, Mexico), Riu Palace Macao (Punta Cana, Dominican Republic), Riu Negril (Negril, Jamaica) and Riu Plaza Panama (Panama), RIU completes the reactivation process of its hotels in America.
By doing so, RIU has become the first Spanish hotel chain to completely reactivate all of its properties in America, as noted by Luis Riu, CEO of RIU Hotels, on his blog.
Thus, the 42 hotels RIU has on the American continent are now operational: the chain has reopened all its hotels in Mexico (20), Jamaica (6), the Dominican Republic (6), the United States (3), Aruba (2), Costa Rica (2), Panama (2) and the Bahamas (1).
A few weeks ago, RIU Hotels announced that all RIU customers from countries that require a negative antibody test before returning home will be able to get the test free of charge at its Caribbean destinations.
To guarantee the health and wellbeing of guests and employees, all the hotels will apply the 17 safety protocols included in the Manual created by the chain along with Preverisk, an international leader in food safety, hygiene and health.
Following these openings and other upcoming ones in Europe in the coming days, RIU will have 76 of its 100 hotels open worldwide, which is very good news after the closure of all its hotels in March 2020 due to the pandemic.
