Hotel & Resort Mimi Kmet June 12, 2013
San Francisco’s historic Galleria Park Hotel is undergoing a $4 million renovation to be completed in August. Updates at the hotel, a Joie de Vivre property, include a redesign of the 177 guest rooms and suites with a jewel-toned color palette, accent walls, designer furnishings, Frette linens, HD televisions and marble bathrooms with mosaic glass walls and rain shower treatments
The property also will open Franck Leclerc’s Gaspar Brasserie, serving French fare by Chefs Brigitte Batson and Patrick Kelly in a bi-level space with a mix of vintage design pieces. Another new amenity is the Legacy Room, which will replicate the hotel’s original speakeasy and feature historical memorabilia.
Additional improvements include new landscaping and décor on the hotel’s outdoor Park Terrace; an Internet hardware upgrade providing a 500 percent increase in bandwidth; expansion of the hotel’s collection of fine art prints and photography; and an updated fitness studio with floor-to-ceiling windows.
The hotel offers a hosted wine hour daily, complimentary Wi-Fi access, and a pets-stay-free policy. Nightly room rates start at $229.
