Starwood Hotels & Resorts opened its first Westin in Maine, the 289-room Westin Portland Harborview.
The property, which is located in the city’s Art Deco district, is owned by Rockbridge and managed by New Castle Hotels & Resorts.
Formerly the Eastland Hotel, it underwent a $50 million.
The renovation project focused on ensuring that public areas were properly restored to their original elegance. The ballroom features vaulted ceiling and mezzanine spaces and a lobby chandelier was “reimagined,” Starwood said.
The property houses a spa, Akari, as well as a WestinWORKOUT gym.
Restaurants include C2, named for the hotel’s Congress Square location and Top of the East, which serves as the highest point in the city.
