TripAdvisor Adds Hilton to Instant Booking Marketplace

Hilton Worldwide has partnered with TripAdvisor in a move that will allow travelers to book a stay at one of the company's more-than-a-dozen brands through TripAdvisor's convenient instant booking marketplace.
The two companies revealed Monday that, beginning in early 2017, travelers using the TripAdvisor website or mobile app will be able to make a reservation at any Hilton hotel or resort. Hilton's portfolio of 13 brands comprises almost 789,000 hotel rooms spread across more than 100 countries and territories around the globe.
Moving forward, users will be able to simply click the "Book Now" button to initiate a reservation. The transaction and customer service will be handled by Hilton.
TripAdvisor first rolled out its instant booking platform back in 2014 and has since formed partnerships with a handful of major hotel companies, including Marriott International, which signed on in 2015.

"Following the rollout momentum we had last year, we continue to accelerate our growth with new instant booking partners and increased user adoption," said TripAdvisor's senior vice president, global sales Robin Ingle in a statement. "We're pleased that our community of travelers and partners alike are finding instant booking such an attractive option."
In his own statement, Hilton senior vice president and commercial director Danny Hughes said the company is always searching for new ways to simplify travel.
"We are committed to working with booking partners, like TripAdvisor, who respect our desire to develop direct relationships with our guests, present our hotels in a fair and equitable manner, and increase the value of both our brands."
Monday's announcement comes roughly one year after TripAdvisor expanded its marketplace beyond the U.S. and U.K. to nine other countries.
