Wingate by Wyndham’s New Prototype is a Win/Wyn Scenario
Hotel & Resort March 28, 2014

The Wingate by Wyndham hotel brand, part of Wyndham Hotel Group, recently unveiled a refreshed new-construction prototype concept that aims to both create a better guest experience and lower development and ongoing costs for hotel owners.
The updated design for the new-construction brand creates an open, inviting lobby and lounge space that allows guests to stay connected and productive in contemporary surroundings, creating a social setting suitable for work or leisure that guests seek.
The design also reduces the costs for hotel owners to build and operate a new Wingate by Wyndham property on a more efficient footprint, offering approximately 10 percent in savings compared to the brand’s previous prototype.
“Wingate by Wyndham has always been a consistent, value-driven brand, but we are continuously looking for ways to further evolve the experience for our guests,” said Bill Hall, brand senior vice president of Wingate by Wyndham. “The relaxing lobby space and integrated connectivity, along with Wingate by Wyndham’s mainstays of all-inclusive pricing, free breakfast daily and spacious guest rooms, will give guests the productivity, comfort and social surroundings they now expect from their hotel stays.”
He continued, "Along with evolving the brand to keep it relevant in today's marketplace, we are focused on giving our franchisees a high-performing, reliable product. With the steady interest and growth in construction the upper-midscale and midscale segments are experiencing, this prototype is available at the right time to meet that demand and to help hotel owners and developers obtain the highest possible returns for their investments at a lower development cost."
The open lobby offers guests a relaxing social environment with comfortable furniture in natural tones, as well as a slotted ceiling that lets in natural light. Integrated technology is found throughout the space, including multiple connectivity areas, four large flat-screen televisions and free high-speed wireless internet access, all which contribute to a setting suitable for work or leisure.
The communal breakfast area transforms to a bar, event space or additional seating throughout the day, allowing for greater flexibility and use of space.
The new prototype is designed with 99 spacious guest rooms over four floors. Accommodations have received a refreshing facelift, with higher ceilings and a redesigned, larger bathroom that includes modern finishes, a walk-in shower and illuminated vanity mirror.
The building’s exterior stays true to Wingate by Wyndham’s signature look, but now features cleaner lines and a more contemporary porte-cochère. Demonstrating the brand’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, the building has been designed to be LEED-certifiable and includes LED lighting, low-flow fixtures and optional outdoor parking areas specifically for car-charging stations.
Additional features include an on-site market offering convenience items, meeting and board rooms with interactive screens and a fully equipped fitness center. Hotel owners have the option of adding an outdoor pool and associated public space.
Existing Wingate by Wyndham properties will be able to implement the overall look and feel of the new design through similar color palettes, furniture offerings and other design elements.
