Fire Extinguished on Spirit Airlines Flight at DFW Airport

A Spirit Airlines plane briefly caught fire on the tarmac at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport on Thursday afternoon, NBC DFW reported.
Airport officials said a small fire started in the plane's landing gear shortly after it arrived from Orlando International Airport around 1 p.m. local time Thursday.
Fire services at the airport were called to Flight 407 at Gate E33, where they quickly extinguished the fire, as seen below courtesy of NBC DFW on Twitter. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.

Afterward, the 178 passengers on board safely exited the Airbus A320.
The airport confirmed the incident via its official Twitter account Thursday afternoon.

DFW Airport emergency services had their hands full Thursday, as fire officials were also called to the scene of an American Airlines plane at Gate A14, where possible smoke was detected in the cabin ahead of takeoff.
Passengers aboard that Chicago-bound flight were evacuated after the plane's emergency slides were deployed.
