A teenage tourist was attacked with a shovel on Friday evening in Florida, after an argument about a hole the teen was digging in the sand, 10 News WTSP reported.
Christian Gies, 19, of Kentucky, was in the middle of digging a hole on Treasure Island, near the Bilmar Beach Resort, when 53-year-old Christopher Carosella, of Tampa, confronted him about the hole, according to the news station.

When Gies refused to stop digging, Carosella became enraged, the teen’s father, Drew, told 10 News. The men argued and then went their separate ways.
Almost an hour later, Carosella asked hotel security to get involved, and after they refused, the man picked up Christian’s shovel, argued with him more and allegedly struck the teenager with the shovel, 10 News reported. Christian ran from Carosella, but beachgoers stopped the Florida man from chasing him for long.
