Impacting Travel Donald Wood October 12, 2017

Several massive fires continue to sweep through California, killing at least 26 people and damaging thousands of homes, hotels, wineries and restaurants.
According to ABCNews.com, around 8,000 firefighters and support personnel are now fighting the fires, while California Governor Jerry Brown has declared a state of emergency for Napa, Sonoma and Yuba counties in Northern California.
One of the areas hit the hardest has been Santa Rosa, which is where the drone footage was shot over popular destinations, including the Hilton Sonoma Wine Country Santa Rosa hotel, the Fountaingrove Inn and the historic Fountaingrove Round Barn.
Aerial cinematographer Douglas Thron shared the footage on YouTube.

In addition, destinations like the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts in Santa Rosa, the Signorello Estates in Napa and the Chateau St. Jean in Kenwood have also suffered serious damage, according to SFGate.com.
Other hotels in the area, including the Best Western Plus Wine Country Inn & Suites, were also shut down. Several staples of California's wine country have also been shut down due to smoke, fire damage or power outages.
