Social media has caused the fall of many high-ranking people, and a Louisiana tourism official has been placed on paid administrative leave after she accidentally posted a pornographic video on Instagram.
According to The Associated Press, 61-year-old Convention and Visitors Bureau Executive Director Lynn Dorsey has been placed on paid administrative leave after she posted a half-hour video with nudity on the Webster Parish Convention and Visitors Bureau's Instagram account on Dec. 19.
Dorsey was in Baton Rouge on business when she accidentally posted the video online and sent notifications to followers. The tourism director said it was a “horrible, honest mistake,” and that the video was intended to be a private message to her husband, but was sent out on Instagram after she hit the wrong button.
Louisiana Tourism Board President Jerry Madden told the Minden Press-Herald that Dorsey’s paid administrative leave is not a disciplinary action and that the board will review the incident at its next meeting later this month.
Madden went on to say Dorsey has done a great job for many years, but voiced his disapproval of the situation.
“At this time we are reviewing facts,” Madden told the Minden Press-Herald. “We have requested she get her own phone and separate her business contacts from her personal contacts. That’s the proper thing to do.”
“We have to make sure we follow our bylaws and the state since we are state subsidized, Madden continued. “There are many people to please, but our number one focus is what is for the best interest of Webster Parish tourism.”
