Aston Taps Bailey for COO

Aston Hotels & Resorts recently hired Matt Bailey to be the company’s chief operating officer. Based at Aston’s headquarters in Honolulu, Bailey is responsible for Aston’s daily operations.
Bailey comes to Aston from the Grand Wailea Resort Hotel & Spa where he managed over 1,500 employees. He returns to Aston where he once worked for three years as senior vice president of operations. He’s worked in the hospitality industry for more than 30 years and lived in Hawaii, Utah, California, Texas and Nevada.
Bailey’s accolades include “Hotelier of the Year” from the Utah Hotel and Lodging Association, when he served as the vice president and general manager of the Sundance Resort in Sundance, Utah. He graduated with a degree in hotel administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He serves on the board of the Maui Hotel & Lodging Association, and was recently the chairman of the Maui Visitors Bureau.
