Omni Promotes Daniel Surette to Senior Vice President

WHY IT RATES: Surette’s early success with the hotel company has led to positive results for the team and the Omni brand.
Omni Hotels & Resorts announced Daniel Surette’s promotion to senior vice president of sales and marketing today.
In his role, Surette will continue to lead the brand’s sales strategy to position Omni as a leader in the luxury hospitality marketplace. In addition, he will oversee revenue management, marketing, and loyalty. Surette will continue to report to the newly appointed president, Peter Strebel.
“In the short time Dan has been with the Omni family, he’s successfully implemented changes throughout the business, not only positively impacting his teams, but also the brand as a whole,” said Peter Strebel, president of Omni Hotels & Resorts. “We’re truly excited to have his expertise, reputation, and passion leading our brand.”
Since joining Omni in August 2017, Surette has overhauled the company’s sales compensation model, developed a new group marketing campaign and inspired sales teams through promotional and recognition programs.
Prior to joining Omni, Surette worked at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. for more than 15 years where he served as the vice president of North America sales and field marketing. In this role, he oversaw a team of 68 regional marketing experts handling sales and marketing for 600-plus Starwood properties.
Surette attended Johnson & Wales University where he earned a degree in hospitality management. Throughout his career, Surette has been a member of several leading professional organizations, including Meeting Professionals International (MPI), Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) and Hotel Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI).
