South African Tourism (SAT) is pleased to announce the appointment of Kristy Angellotti as Head: Trade Relations North America, beginning on Tuesday.
In her role, Angellotti will join the SAT North America team to expand existing relationships with North American travel trade partners, while working with new distribution channels in the USA and Canada to sell South Africa as both a leisure and business events destination.
“We are excited to welcome Kristy back to South African Tourism,” said Jerry Mpufane, President North America Hub. “North America is South Africa’s fastest growing overseas tourism market and her decade-plus experience selling African travel to North American audiences will strengthen our team’s trade and sales strategy toward continued growth in tourist arrivals from this important market.”
Angellotti got her start in the African travel trade as SAT’s Manager: Trade Relations (West Coast) from 2013-2017. Prior to that, she worked in travel trade media and consumer media for 10 years. Following her departure from SAT in 2017, she gained valuable experience working for an industry-leading collection of safari lodges and a luxury tour operator while traveling extensively across the African continent.
Angellotti commented that, “through the years South Africa has always remained my favorite country to return to again and again. Re-joining the SAT North America team is a thrill. I am passionate about this extraordinary destination and believe that South Africa is home to a wide variety of unique tourism experiences perfect for any travel budget.
