This autumn, Uncommon Journeys, the nation’s leading train and cruise travel specialist, announces five new trip itineraries to “must-see” destinations from the Great American West to Atlantic Canada and New England.
“Our fall season celebrates the bygone era of traveling by private streamliner train or classic ocean liner for a memorable autumn adventure,” shares Uncommon Journeys president Kevin Tam. “Complete with first-class train accommodations, luxury hotel stays, exquisite dining and comprehensive sightseeing, these itineraries provide guests with a remarkable way to explore North America during the most glorious time of year.”
A must-do holiday on every traveler’s bucket-list is the legendary cross-Canada excursion available on the 2014 Great Canadian Train Ride. Leisurely hotel stays in Banff and Jasper are paired with stylish events ashore to make this 13-day journey the only of its kind to offer five full nights in the Canadian Rockies. Also available this October is the 2014 Journey to Atlantic Canada that combines a voyage from New York City aboard the stylish “ms. Eurodam” of Holland America Line with travel back to New York City by vintage train over the Canadian Pacific Railway. Guests experience an iconic departure from midtown Manhattan up the St. Lawrence River with superb ports of call including Newport, Prince Edward Island and the charming old world city of Quebec.
In addition, the Great Western Explorer 2014 itinerary provides a visual feast of the most extraordinary sights of the American West from Lake Tahoe to the California Coast to Yosemite National Park. The 2014 Fall Colors in Quebec & Vermont trip features travel by vintage train from New York to Montreal including a day trip via the Hudson River Valley through the Adirondacks and past Lake Champlain. The latest of the October itineraries, the 2014 Canada & New England with the Queen takes passengers on an autumn journey aboard the grandest ocean liner, Cunard’s “Queen Mary 2.” Combining the fabled 170 year heritage of seagoing excellence with all the modern amenities one would enjoy in a five-star resort, the new Cunard liner is unmatched by any other ship afloat.
