G Adventures Raising Money Fast To Aid Nepal
Tour Operator G Adventures David Cogswell April 27, 2015

G Adventures sent out an appeal to raise money to help send aid to Nepal in the aftermath of the 7.8 magnitude earthquake on Saturday.
The Toronto-based tour operator is trying to raise $75,000 to help rebuild Katmandu, Nepal and the surrounding area.
“Nepal needs our help,” said Bruce Poon Tip, the founder of G Adventures. “Relief agencies are already mobilizing to provide food, shelter, and medicine to those affected by the earthquake, but it doesn’t end there. It will take months, even years to rebuild the country.”
Donations can be made at a special site set up by Planeterra, G Adventures’ nonprofit sister association, set up to support social and environmental causes. As of Monday morning, the company had raised more than $55,000 toward their goal in less than 24 hours.
G Adventures is covering the administrative costs so that donations will be received in their entirety by those in need in Nepal.
“Our world is an amazing place to explore and has given us so much,” said Poon Tip. “When part of it is in trouble, it is our duty to step up and return the favor. We know our travelers and partners care. As demonstrated with our past relief efforts in Haiti, East Africa, Peru and the Philippines, they supported and championed; they want to contribute and make a difference.”
