WHY IT RATES: Intrepid's three-month Purpose-Driven Agent incentive rewards agents with "Purpose Points" for selling, leading and traveling with purpose.—Mia Taylor, TravelPulse Senior Writer.
To celebrate its 30th anniversary, Intrepid Group—the world’s largest B-Corp certified, carbon-neutral travel company—is launching on February 1, 2019, its largest Purpose-Driven Agent Incentive in the Americas, encouraging travel agents to celebrate the business’s philosophy of having a “Purpose Beyond Profit.”
The three-month Purpose-Driven Agent Incentive—running February 1 to April 30, 2019—rewards agents for “selling, leading and travelling with purpose.” During the three month campaign, agents receive one Purpose Point for every client booked on one of Intrepid Group’s 2,700 sustainable tours—through the brands Intrepid Travel, Peregrine Adventures and Urban Adventures—with the top-30 agents receiving monthly prizes focused on Intrepid’s sustainable travel experiences around the globe.
At the end of the three months, the top-10 Agents—accumulating the most Purpose Points—will win a free trip to Nepal, led by Intrepid Group’s Co-Founder Geoff Manchester and Shayna Zand, the company’s head of business development for the Americas.
“30 years ago, Intrepid’s co-founders created a business with a vision of offering a style of travel that benefits travelers and the places they visit” said Darshika Jones, Intrepid Group’s Regional Director of North America “This year, we want to celebrate our anniversary by recognizing travel agents who share our vision of ‘Changing the Way People See the World’. This incentive offers our top sellers the chance to have a once in a lifetime experience in Nepal, on a trip that supports some of the communities that benefit from travelers the most.”
Intrepid’s 10-day Experience Nepal trip, departing November 3, 2019, will take agents on a variety of experiences including hiking stunning landscapes and a cooking class with Seven Women, a social enterprise that has changed the lives of more than 1,000 disadvantaged women in Nepal, supported by Intrepid Group’s not-for-profit The Intrepid Foundation.
Intrepid is the largest trekking operator in Nepal and the company recently received a World Responsible Tourism Award for its year-long Namaste Nepal campaign, a project that raised more than $750,000 AUD for the country.
“This is more than an incentive, it’s a celebration of the work that so many agents are doing to highlight sustainable tourism and the chance for travelers to help better the lives of people and conserve our planet,” said Zand. “Last year, industry growth exceeded our already-high projections, growing by 46 percent in a year, proving that North American travel agents and customers are becoming savvier about sustainable tourism and seek out companies who show real commitment to being a responsible business and a force for good.“
