Tour Operator Cox & Kings Janeen Christoff April 10, 2018

Cox & Kings is inviting travelers to retrace the steps of history with a special World War II-inspired itinerary.
These privately guided tours can be arranged in time for travel for the 74th anniversary of D-Day on June 6.
The 11-day journey begins in Paris and includes a stop at the American Cemetery of Omaha Beach, the largest World War II-era American cemetery in France and Le Memorial de Caen (the museum for Peace).
Guests visit the Dunkirk Memorial and the GWGC Cemetery as well as The Mole and Bray Dunes, where shipwrecks are still visible on the beach.
There is also the chance to follow the “Band of Brothers” in the fighting for the village of Foy before guests travel to Bastogne to visit the new 101st Airborne Museum and more.
After transferring by air to Nuremberg, Germany, travelers have the opportunity to explore the city before visiting the former Nazi concentration camp of Dachau.
The camp was the first of its kind in Germany and was opened in 1933. It now stands as a memorial to the more than 40,000 people who were killed there and the more than 200,000 who were imprisoned during the Nazi regime.
Guests of Cox & Kings also see the Documentation Center, the former Nazi Party Rally Grounds and the Furth with a private guide while visiting the city.
In Munich, the itinerary includes the former Nazi headquarters and a tour of the city through the eyes of its citizens as the Nazi regime rose to power, viewing halls where fanatics gathered and sites linked to the 1938 anti-Semitic pogrom of Kristallnacht.
The journey concludes with a half-day private tour for guests to visit Eagle’s Nest, a former residence of Adolf Hitler. The excursion takes travelers into the heart of the Bavarian Alps. The property was a gift from the National Socialist Workers Party on the occasion of the Fuuhrer’s 50th birthday in Berchtesgaden.
