WHY IT RATES: Now is the time for travelers to book a Trafalgar tour to Italy.—Codie Liermann, Associate Editor
Leading global guided vacation company, Trafalgar, is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its exclusive Be My Guest program.
This program allows passionate local hosts to open up their homes and businesses for Trafalgar’s guests to toast, dine, explore and learn about the places visited straight from the source, with a limited time savings of $200 per couple off its itineraries to Italy, where the program originated.
Now available to guests on nearly every Trafalgar itinerary all over the world, according to CEO Gavin Tollman, Be My Guest began simply and inadvertently on a lemon farm in Sorrento Italy in 2009.
“Two Italian sisters, relatives of a Travel Director, hosted our guests for a locally home-cooked meal and great conversation that was all finished off with the sisters’ own delicious limoncello. Guests immediately loved it and we knew we were onto something special,” said Tollman.
Ahead of Experiential Travel Trend, Helping Advisors Connect Guests to What’s Real
“When we launched Be My Guest 10 years ago, we were the first to tap into the desire to find new ways of understanding the world by exposing travelers to the day-to-day lives of locals. We’re proud to have pioneered this movement and to make it easy for our partners to bring this rich experience to their clients,” says Tollman.
Today, there are more than 100 Be My Guest opportunities including dining with Muhammad Ali’s brother to gain insights into the legendary boxer’s life, enjoying a three-course meal prepared by one of the former top 10 female chefs in America or connecting with a former champion jockey over tea on his dairy farm in New Zealand.
As the birthplace of Trafalgar’s Be My Guest experiences, the brand is offering $200 per couple off select Italian itineraries.
Guests can savor crisp Chianti and Tuscan farm-to-table fare with the Landi family at their 300-year-old villa, delve into the history of the Pazzi and Medici feud in the 12th century Castle of Trebbio and enjoy local cuisine with Count Miari Fulcis on his 15th-century organic olive oil estate.
This offer is available on new bookings made now through February 28 for travel between April 1 and October 31, 2019. Certain restrictions apply.
“Loved by our guests, we are very proud of Be My Guest and look forward to celebrating in 2019 alongside our valued advisor partners,” said Tollman.
