Agent's Corner: Choosing Hospitality Over Hollywood

Some might think growing up on Hollywood film sets would be a dream come true, but Jessica Pentland, the owner of Clementine Travels, a Cruise Planners agency, was drawn away from Tinsel Town and into the world of hospitality.
Pentland left her Hollywood life and mom Roseanne Barr behind to head to work at the Four Seasons Hualalai on the Big Island almost 10 years ago.
“I’ve always had a passion for travel and started in hospitality in 2010 at The Four Seasons, Hualalai, in order to find my dream of living in Hawaii,” said Pentland.
“While there, I discovered that, while I enjoyed being able to offer top-notch service to our guests, I also felt that that kind of attention need not be reserved just for the very wealthy,” Pentland added. Everyone of every income bracket needs and deserves time away with those they love.”
Pentland grew up on the road, traveling the world.
“When traveling with my mom I was privy to all the best that travel has to offer—private jets and penthouses, the best restaurants in the world but, after traveling with friends on a budget, I discovered some of my favorite moments actually happened in hostel dining halls and around taco carts,” she said.
“I was just as happy in a tent on Rancho Percebu Beach in Baja California, Mexico, as I'd been in a private Mediterranean villa,” added Pentland.
Now, Pentland has combined her love of travel with her ability to knack for figuring out the perfect way to help people out.
“Vacations shouldn't just be for the wealthy, everyone deserves and needs a break,” she said. “Doesn't matter if it's a Motel 6 or a Four Seasons, what matters is the time away with the people you love.”
While Pentland, is very busy planning travel for the real-life Roseanne and Dan Connors around the world, TravelPulse had to know where she would send the fictional characters she knows so well. where would you send the Connor’s on vacation?
“I think they would enjoy a Caribbean cruise—on a ship with a water park, private beaches, pool service and LOTS of drinks!” she said.
