Pleasant Raises Commission On Mexico Protection Plan
Travel Agent Dawna L. Robertson March 30, 2017

Always incentivising travel agent bookings, Pleasant Holidays is offering a limited-time commission increase for protection plan coverage purchases to Mexico and the Caribbean.
Agents will earn 25 percent commission on the protection plan coverage portion of new packages booked by June 15, 2017, for travel anytime in 2017 or 2018. The generous offer is valid on new group, destination wedding and FIT travel bookings, including cruise vacations.
“This limited time offer allows agents to earn up to nearly $60 per adult in commission just on the protection coverage alone when they include it in the vacation package,” says Jack E. Richards, Pleasant Holidays’ president and CEO. “It’s an excellent way to increase their commission income while protecting their clients’ vacation investment against unexpected events that can impact travel plans.”
Richards adds, “The Open Sky Agreement is bringing new flights with attractive fares on major airlines, making it more convenient and more affordable to vacation in Mexico.”
Beginning at $69 per adult, Pleasant’s comprehensive Protection Plan Plus combines the company’s Pre-Departure Travel Arrangement and Waiver Benefits with its Post-Departure Travel Insurance Benefits. The plan also provides the booking agent with commission protection coverage.
The tiered coverage rates are calculated by the vacation package's total price divided by how many adults 19 years and older are included in the booking. Rates for children ages 2-18 are 50 percent of the adult rate.
According to Richards, Pleasant Holidays’ Mexico and Caribbean sales are up double digits in 2017, reflecting a strong demand for destination wedding and group travel. The company’s Mexico portfolio provides 230-plus properties—including 150 all-inclusive resorts—and are located in the country’s most popular cultural, cosmopolitan and beach destinations.
The Caribbean portfolio offers 100 all-inclusive resorts in a roster of 275 properties scattered amid 23 tropical island destinations. Both portfolios offer a spectrum of options presented with real-time availability and rates.
As another Pleasant perk, the company is offering a $100 discount per new booking made by April 16, 2017, for travel through Dec. 16, 2017. Select properties include all-inclusive and adults-only options in Cancun, Riviera Maya, Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta, Riviera Nayarit, Cozumel and Guadalajara.
