Hickory Global Partners Fights Leakage With TripScanner

Hickory Global Partners is teaming up with TripScanner, a Web-based tool that tracks and controls unmanaged business travel and open-source bookings, those bookings made outside of a company’s designated travel agency.
“We are partnering with TripScanner because their Web-based solution tracks unmanaged travel and/or open source bookings. This new partnership will help our agency membership address the challenge of ‘leakage,’ providing greater visibility and control to their corporate clients,” said Chris Dane, president of Hickory Global Partners.
Leakage refers to travel booked outside of a company’s established travel policy – travel and information that risks not being captured by a business traveler’s employer, thereby “leaking out.”
“Hickory’s travel agency membership is focused primarily on the business travel space, making TripScanner a natural fit for us.”
TripScanner is a “leakage” travel management solution that enables small- and mid-sized companies to stay attuned to their employees’ travel plans, gain real-time visibility into all arrangements made and track expenses.
“Travel program ‘leakage’ is a real problem for many organizations and their travel agencies,” said Ethan Laub, CEO of TripScanner. “It creates blind spots that impact reporting, compliance, duty of care, and other critical objectives.”
Hickory members may now access a complimentary, co-branded TripScanner Web site to enroll customers.
After travel is booked, TripScanner uses online travel search engines to perpetually check for more lucrative deals. If one is obtained, it alerts the business traveler or travel arranger directly.
