New Travel Site Offers Deals for Group Buys and Sharing

A new travel site called CarryOn rewards travelers with discounts and benefits for group purchasing and sharing via social media.
Best of all, it's free to become a member.
Once you sign into the website as an official member, you can either choose existing trips or create your own customized trip. The more people who follow the trip, the greater the discount. This allows for travelers to receive group rates even if they plan on traveling alone.
“Our site is different from existing travel websites in that all of our features culminate in a unique visual social travel shopping, sharing and buying experience that goes beyond simply sharing travel photos,” said Rick Kumpf, CEO of CarryOn. “Our members receive considerable price discounts at group rates without actually traveling with anyone else.”
Members can also earn free points as part of CarryOn's loyalty rewards program by opening emails, visiting the site, sharing and following trips or purchasing deals.
“Our members have many easy ways to earn points which can turn into free travel,” Kumpf said. “One of our members has earned more than 25,000 points just from following and sharing deals and earning points from friend’s trips all before making her first purchase.
"Her points can be redeemed for a $200 CarryOn travel award she can use to book a trip on any available airline or hotel. This is why we believe we have the most rewarding loyalty program the travel industry has ever seen.”
In addition, each member has their own personal TripBoard, which features all of their followed and created trips.
Through TripBoard, members can share trips on their personal social networks or invite friends directly to follow trips. In turn, they receive greater discounts.
This not only allows travelers to get great deals on flights, hotels and cruises, it also facilitates a community atmosphere. Travelers want to share their trips to get discounts, and others learn more about the world as a result.
CarryOn also offers last-minute holiday travel deals at discounted prices. The start-up site notes that members have already saved an average of $54 per trip this holiday season.
