Seeing Another City Is Easy, Affordable With AirWander
Travel Technology Gabe Zaldivar December 07, 2016

Might we interest you in a side of another city?
A budding new website is aiming to shave some of the cost off your plane flight while also interesting you in the idea of stopover travel.
TechCrunch introduces us to AirWander, a website that scours the Internet and offers some exciting possibilities to your travel itinerary in the form of a hypothetical layover you will never forget.
The idea was borne out of founders Ela Bader and Douglas Deming’s experiences backpacking throughout North and South America. As it were, the pain of finding cheap flights became an arduous endeavor.
Finding that unique experience between destinations was an unbelievable chore, leading to the advent of AirWander and, hopefully, more travel for enthusiasts.
That’s important to the likes of Bader who tells TechCrunch: “the more people travel, the more it contributes to the general prosperity of goodwill that people will have towards others as it breaks pre-judgment of others as well as teaches tolerance and openness.”
The more you travel, the more empathy you have for your fellow man. The sentiment is wonderful, but what about finding a few days in a stopover city simply for the fun of it all?

Head on over to the website and you see just how painfully easy the innovation is to operate.
Plug in a departure city, a destination and when you want to leave. From there, AirWander brings back myriad choices for possible stopovers you might enjoy for a few days – many of them ridiculously cheap or, perhaps, free. It’s remarkable just how feasible an extra stop on your itinerary can be once you begin to fiddle with the technology.
As TechCrunch notes, there will need to be some tweaking to the innovation before it can truly take over the industry. Possibly most important on the list would be an efficient app for travelers to navigate.
First on the list is a price alert function followed by the team exploring advertising avenues such as Facebook, but now travelers already have a website in AirWander that piques our interest in the possibility of cramming one or more cities into our itinerary. And when it comes to seeing new towns, we always say the more the merrier.
