For those of you hoping to make a trip to Victoria to start the new year, Clipper Vacations is offering a variety of all-inclusive packages in conjunction with several 4-star hotels.
“We have teamed up with several four-star hotels, including the Hotel Grand Pacific, to offer unbeatable prices on an all-inclusive package. With package prices from only $138-142 per person (double occupancy), travelers are paying a three-star price for a four-plus-star hotel,” said Janis Smith, V.P. of sales and marketing.
The Hotel Grand Pacific package includes a round trip cruise between Seattle and Victoria on the Victoria Clipper, overnight accommodations at the Hotel Grand Pacific and applicable taxes. This hotel offers outdoor balconies in each room, an Asian-inspired spa, several dining options, a full health club and pool, and top-of-the-line customer service.
Other participating four-star hotels include the Inn at Laurel Point, The Rialto and the Hotel Oswego, with rates starting from $138 per person (double occupancy) through February, and from $141 per person (double occupancy) for travel in March and April (rates may vary by actual travel date). Children under 12 are only $10 (one child per paying adult) with purchase of an overnight package. In addition to these 4-star options, a variety of other hotel packages are available starting at $124 per person (double occupancy).
Victoria is less than three hours from Seattle via the Victoria Clipper. The vessel docks in Victoria’s Inner Harbour, only steps from the hotels, activities, shopping and dining.
Some unique upcoming events are: The Whisky Festival from Jan. 16-19, Chinese New Year Festival and Lion Dance on Jan. 31, The Victoria Film Festival from Feb. 7-16 and Dine Around Victoria from Feb. 20-March 9.
This quaint city is packed with activities, making it ideal for families with kids of all ages. Some of the choices include: the Royal BC Museum with hands on exhibits for kids, and the special Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibit through April 6; the Victoria Bug Zoo; renting bikes to ride around the Marine Drive and Beacon Hill Park, and enjoying the famous fish and chips at Red Fish Blue Fish or a hot cocoa at Rogers’ Chocolates Soda Shoppe. Plan ahead for winter or spring break and get the family out of the house.
