Delta Vacations put in place several enhancements to its travel agent servicing capabilities and is promoting them with a new travel agent offer.

The company instituted a new system through which travel agents can request price matches over the phone and receive an immediate answer, eliminating the previous requirement of filling out forms to request a price match.

Under the new system, travel agents can go ahead and complete a booking, then make a telephone request within 24 hours to 800-231-2090. The price match offer applies to any of 4,000 hotels and resorts available globally through the wholesaler.

Delta Vacations also upgraded its online travel agent booking portal, WorldAgent Direct. The system now includes a clear listing of taxes and fees for rental cars in vacation packages. The taxes and fees also appear on the customers’ travel documents.

WorldAgent Direct also now provides the means for travel agents to sort and filter hotels in any given destination.

The company also revised the rules of the game for its travel agent affiliate program so that all affiliates will have their names appear on Delta Vacations web pages that are accessed through the affiliate travel agency websites.

To sweeten the pot, the company is driving it home with a special travel agent promotion. Through Dec. 31 agents can save their clients $275 for every qualified booking to any one of more than 250 world-class destinations, plus an additional $25 in bonus commission for qualified bookings to Mexico, the Caribbean and Hawaii.
