Delta Vacations, the vacation packaging operation of the airline, is the latest tour operator to add Colombia to its menu of destinations as the country’s budding travel industry gathers momentum and appears about to achieve lift off.
Delta Vacations president John Caldwell said that the move was prompted by calls from travel agents. Colombia, he said, is one of the company’s fastest growing destinations in Latin America. Colombia is Delta Vacations’ seventh Latin American country.
The packages are built on Delta Air Lines’ nonstop flights to Bogota from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and New York JFK International Airport.
Delta Vacations is introducing the destination with packages to Cartagena, Medelin and the nation’s capital city of Bogota. The company is offering a choice of more than 20 hotels, including brands such as Starwood, Marriott, Karisma and Best Western.
The packages are available for booking now for travel starting Dec. 19.
