Ever since Diane Lane bought a villa in Tuscany in the film, "Under The Tuscan Sun," the region has become a huge draw for Americans who want to experience the food, wine, ambiance, and sights of this incredible region. Now Sceptre Tours is offering a Tuscany Deluxe Package that enables travelers to imbibe everything Tuscan while staying at Il Borro estate in the Chianti region, owned by Italy's renowned Ferragamo family. Immersed in the beauty of the Tuscan countryside, Il Borro estate offers guests a glimpse of Tuscany's rural life combined with all the luxuries of a five-star property. Il Borro estate extends over 1,755 acres providing travelers plenty of activities on the grounds including wine tasting, cooking classes, fishing, horseback riding, and various outdoor activities. Travelers will stay in a deluxe villa in "The Village," which includes two bedrooms, two luxurious bathrooms, a modern kitchen, living room, and more. As an added bonus, a complimentary bottle of wine from the Il Borro vineyard will await guests in their home away from home.
The Tuscany Deluxe Package includes roundtrip economy class airfare to Florence, six nights in a two-bedroom villa at Il Borro estate, full-size car, and a complimentary bottle of wine from the Il Borro vineyard. The package is priced from $999 per person for travel from JFK and Newark, $1,009 from Boston, and $1,089 from Chicago for travel from Feb. 1 to March 31. It's available through Oct. 31 at slightly higher rates. Other gateways are available. All rates are per person, based on quad occupancy. The price is exclusive of taxes ranging up to $175 per person. Sceptre offers travel from over 100 gateway cities throughout the U.S. Land only is available with a supplement of $100. Travelers can add a seventh night at Il Borro with the rental car for $79 additional per person. The following add-ons are also available: Gold Package ($99) includes an automatic car and wine tour and tasting in the cellar of Il Borro; and Tuscan Cooking Class ($99) allows guests to learn the art of traditional Tuscan cooking. For approximately three hours participants will experience cooking with local ingredients and then enjoy the prepared meal in the restaurant.
Only 40 minutes from Florence and Siena, Il Borro estate is a great base for sightseeing in some of Italy's most popular cities. Guests can travel into Florence to the Accademia Museum and see the statue of David, or venture to Pisa to see the world-famous Leaning Tower. Guests can also enjoy many activities at Il Borro such as fishing, mountain biking, horseback riding, hot-air ballooning, and cooking or art classes. During their stay at Il Borro, guests have the opportunity to visit the winery, where tours are conducted by one of many English-speaking wine experts. The tour begins in the impressive amphitheatre of the new cantina, then continues through the winery where the winemaking process from vine to bottle is explained.
