These bars are far from your run-of-the-mill watering holes. Dotting the globe in prime locations with million-dollar views, they are great places to have a drink and let your worries drift away.
Sirocco Sky Bar
When in Bangkok, Thailand, a stop by this hotspot for an evening is a worthy excursion. Sirocco is perched atop the 63rd floor of the Dome at Lebua. You can mosey over to the transparent walls for some spectacular pictures as jazz floats through the air and the bar changes color. It's pretty cool stuff.
The Rock Bar
This will get you a bit closer to nature. At the Ayana Resort and Spa in Bali, you can listen to waves as they crash over the rocks 50 feet below you. Gaze over volcanic cliffs that stretch skyward just beyond the open-air bar. Half the appeal of this bar is making the journey — it involves a journey via cable car down the side of a cliff to the bar below. Sunsets are a huge draw here, so get there a bit early if you can.
New York Bar
Don't let the name fool you, this bar can only be found in Tokyo at the Park Hyatt. The next time you're in Australia, be sure to hop over to Sydney and spend some time at the Shangri-La Hotel. On the 36th floor you will find this world-class bar featuring incredible views of Darling Harbour, the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. The ambience is pretty low-key here.
