A Glimpse Past the Sand

Acapulco is a place known for stunning beaches and energetic nightlife. Buildings line the coast against a mountainous backdrop, but there’s more.
If you can peel yourself off the beach towel, you’ll find a number of fun activities to take part in while vacationing in this area.
Coyuca Lagoon Tour
Start your day early and head out to tour this freshwater lagoon. If you stay on the look-out, you might see nesting turtles or bird sanctuaries. Some tours include a traditional Mexican lunch, and you’ll have the option to relax on the beach or take a dip in the pristine water before heading back to your hotel.
Cliff Diver Show
Did you ever think there would be a place where you can watch brave souls jump off a cliff while enjoying a 3-course dinner? After being picked up from your hotel, have dinner at La Perla restaurant with a show of experienced divers gracefully leaping from La Quebrada into the sea.
Watch the sun sink down and the stars pop out; It will be an evening you won’t soon forget.

City Tour
As with many destinations, taking a city tour with a local guide is sure to give a nice overview of what the destination has to offer. Enjoy a ride in an air-conditioned bus while stopping frequently to hop out and grab that perfect photo to show off back home. Weave your way through the local markets and shop, admire the arts and crafts or people watch.
Scuba Diving
Cool off with a deep dive in Acapulco. The scuba industry is making an appearance, and there is plenty to see under the water. You can visit an underwater statue or a shipwreck, and there is a possibility you’ll see humpback whales or whale sharks.
Relaxing on the sand and getting a dose of sunshine is always a good idea, but when you’ve had enough of that, keep in mind there is a lot more to Acapulco than the beach.
