AmaWaterways Recognizes Women in the Industry

In honor of the recent International Women’s Day, AmaWaterways’ Executive Vice President and Co-Owner, Kristin Karst, celebrates women in the travel industry. She believes gender balance in all areas of life is extremely important and was moved by the Balance for Better message.
Over the years, AmaWaterways has gladly recognized nine women senior travel executives by giving them the role of godmother for the fleet of river cruise ships. It’s a perfect way to celebrate the achievements and success women have brought to their companies across the travel industry.
Karst is also proud of the women in her own company. Women make up 45 percent of the AmaWaterways senior executive team. In addition, 50 percent of the cruise managers are also women.
She has recently seen a shift in the industry as women are being put in leadership positions and believes Gender Balance is something everyone can help with in order to continue in the right direction.
