Can You Eat Healthy During an All-Inclusive Vacation?

Have you ever wondered if you can you really eat healthy while enjoying the benefits of having everything included? The unequivocal answer is YES. While all-inclusive resorts can be associated with “over indulging” resulting in post-vacation pounds, making the conscious decision to opt for a more health-conscious vacation can be a refreshing alternative.
The corporate team at Playa Hotels & Resort shares this belief and as a healthy eater and wellness advocate myself, I can certainly attest that the properties within the Playa collection keep lighter offerings in mind. Not only are the number of restaurant options noteworthy but the number of healthy options is, too. Here’s a roundup of a couple of my favorites across the entire Hyatt All-Inclusive Resort collection:
Hyatt Ziva Cancun
The ceviche options found on the lunch menu at Habaneros are endless (maybe that’s an exaggeration but it sure feels that way)! Since this style of cooking doesn’t include heat, the food retains all of its natural nutrients and health benefits. If you love shrimp, try the Octopus Ceviche. The Nayarit-Style is also noteworthy, not to mention guiltless!
Hyatt Zilara Cancun
Loyal guests of Zilara Cancun (formally known as The Royal Cancun) know that Chef’s Plate offers a rotating menu depending on the day of the week in which you dine. Only the freshest seasonal ingredients are used and served in each of the six courses. (Think freshly-caught seafood, Angus beef, and native fruits and vegetables.) Remember, the menu changes often so be sure to take advantage of what’s in season each trip.
Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall
I can fully attest that you can travel to Montego Bay and not cheat on a diet. The baked chicken at DiRoza is clean eating at its finest and is accompanied by a choice of fresh grilled veggies. When ordering, ask for the Petto Di Pollo Al Forno.

Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta
Ever think stuffed jalapenos would be healthy? Guess what, it’s possible! The stuffed jalapenos found on the menu at Casa Grande at Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta are stuffed with pacific blue fin tuna and jicama offering guests a healthier alternative to the traditional dish.
Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos
Hyatt Ziva and Hyatt Zilara are known for authenticity and this certainly stands true at Dozo, the Japanese restaurant at Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos. The grilled fish in Japanese curry sauce is a favorite and allows guest to opt for a variety of options outside of traditional teppanyaki stations. Tip, if you dine here, the seaweed salad serves as a nice, healthy starter.
