Culinary Journeys With Crystal Cruises

The islands of Hawaii provide a laidback atmosphere with friendly people and an Aloha Spirit. Visitors are welcomed with open arms and encouraged to relax and let the stress of their busy lives back home drift away with the waves.
The lifestyle is uncomplicated, and the food falls within those same guidelines—fresh, simple ingredients. Crystal Cruises shares a behind the scenes look at one of Hawaii’s signature dishes during the second episode of Culinary Journeys.
Hawaiian food expert, Gio Mazzarella, leads Crystal’s Chef Jon Ashton to get a taste of local Hawaiian poké, or cubed fresh fish. After enjoying this meal on the island so much, Jon took his experience back to the culinary team on the Crystal Serenity to figure out a way to add it to the menu.
Guests onboard can now try three poké options: traditional Hawaiian poké with Ahi tuna, local Maui onion, sesame oil and soy sauce, cilantro; King crab, salmon eggs, ginger and gold leaf; and Yellowtail Hamachi, soy glaze, nori and crispy leeks.
All three dishes are as mouthwatering as they sound, right in line with the rest of the meals on Crystal Cruises’ menus.
