Must Try Foods When Visiting Prague with Collette

Along with taking in the new sights and sounds, tasting the local food is one of the first things travelers want to do when exploring a new destination. They want to try the chocolate of the area, the favorite snack or the most popular main dish.
A lot of tourist guide books will have a list of the main eateries in the area, but what better way to really find the top spots than by asking a local? If you’re traveling to Prague on your next Collette tour, here are a few foods worth trying.
Koleno, also known as pork knuckle, is a local favorite. Cooked in herbs and dark beer for hours, it is a tender choice. The portions are large when ordering Koleno, so it could easily be split with another person—but doesn’t have to be!

Another traditional meal found in Czech restaurants is roast duck with cabbage and potato dumplings, or something similar on the side. The duck’s sauce douses everything else on the plate, so you end up with a savory meal all around.
Bramborak is a nice option for a quick lunch or snack. Perfect for a bite while you’re out shopping or exploring the streets. These potato pancakes are made with a handful of different spices creating a unique taste.
Babovka, or bundt cake with nuts, is another quick snack option. It’s also popular as a lunch dessert, paired with a strong Turkish coffee.
