Bowman’s Travel Brief: Cruising’s Record Momentum

Days after unveiling the first look for the new cruise ship Icon of the Seas, Royal Caribbean broke booking records last week.
Plus, the cruise line set an industry first last week when Navigator of the Seas sailed on renewable diesel fuel.
Both big moments are further signs that cruising is bouncing back strong, and the future of the industry is on the right track.
Several new ships launched this year and many more are set to debut over the course of the next year.
Other cruise lines have broken booking records throughout 2022, with world cruises really selling out fast.
The cruise industry no doubt took a hard hit through the pandemic, but this bounce back we have seen take place during the year is remarkable.
Add in the fact that many cruise lines continue to make moves in the sustainability sector as well, and to me, it’s just wonderful to see.
