I fell in love with cruising when we took our first in 2012. Cruising is the epitome of a relaxation vacation. To me a cruise is a luxury that should be experienced by everyone at last once in their lifetime.
Have you ever wondered just how luxurious accommodations can get on board a cruise ship? I'll be honest; we have only ever stayed in a regular cabin when we have been on a cruise. If we want to indulge ourselves a bit we might splurge for a suite. However, these rooms are still typically very small as compared to what you would find in a two or three star hotel.
There is another side to the equation. There are rooms that would make kings and billionaires jealous. They are reserved for those that are willing to open up their wallets like faucets. Take a look at a few of these and think about maybe splurging on your next cruise.
Celebrity Cruise Lines
Their Solstice class ships offer penthouses that are 1,291 square feet. They boast a veranda that is 398 square feet. Inside, you have your own living room, dining room, and master bedroom. Your bathroom will have double vanities, a nicely appointed shower, and of course a whirlpool tub. The room comes complete with plush furnishings and a bed that lets you sleep easy. Average cost: A little over $1,000 per person, per night for a voyage across the Caribbean.
Oceania Cruise Lines
Oceania's two new ships, the Marina and Riviera, are impressive enough in their own right before you consider their lavish furnishings. However, if you are looking for a 2,000-square-foot dream suite, then these two ships have what you are looking for. Nicely appointed with Ralph Lauren home furnishings, they feature a living room, dining room, bedroom complete with a king size bed, his and hers walk-in closets, an impressive media room, and a music room that boasts an ebony grand piano for those late-night serenades.
Oh, I forgot to mention the 24-hour butler service and of course room service that is delivered course by course. Be prepared to shell out $1,200-$1,400 per person, per night for this experience.
Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines
How about we try a loft, luxury style? Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas offers a 1,599 square-foot loft suite. Keep in mind, that does not include the balcony which is in itself 874 square feet. The balcony also contains a whirlpool as well as a luxurious dining area that wraps around the exterior of this amazing suite. Two stories of pure luxury, you get amazing windowed views of the ocean as well as your own piano on the downstairs floor. Very modern and chic, this one is considered to be modestly priced at just under $800 per person per night.
Cunard's Queen Mary 2
OK folks, this one takes the cake. Featuring a curved staircase that sweeps to the bedrooms located on the second floor, this suite is one for the record books. Boasting 2,249 square feet of elegant living space, you will be amazed at the two marble baths, showers, whirlpool tub, full guest bathroom, and massive terrace for enjoying those afternoon ocean views. Of course any meal from the Queens Grill can be yours and there are no shortage of dining options. The price for this? A paltry $4,170 per person per night.
I think I will take one of each! This will give you plenty to think about the next time you book your cruise right? Who knew that such lavish decadence was hidden in these cruise ships. I mean, I knew suites existed, but nothing like this ever entered my mind! At least you will know where that phantom piano music is coming from now.
