Emirates Airlines has released its first commercial starting U.S. movie and television star Jennifer Aniston, two months after signing her to an endorsement deal to promote the Middle East Gulf carrier.
And the spot pulls no punches, going right after U.S. airlines and hitting them right where it hurts - level of service. Emirates, along with Etihad and Qatar airlines, have been engaged in a yearlong dispute with the U.S. big three of American, Delta and United, which allege that the Gulf airlines accept government subsidies.
The Middle East Three have said that if U.S. airlines were so concerned about their growth, they should tend more to their level of service.
In the 60-second spot, Aniston is seen walking down the aisle of an airplane in a white robe looking for the shower. She comes upon crewmembers in the galley who are bemused by her request to locate the showers and the bar, both amenities offered on Emirates' long-haul flights.
We'll let the video take it from there.
