For those who have never cruised before, we thought it would be fun to equate ten random cruise lines to other widely-recognized international brands in order to better convey a bit of their individual personalities. Without further ado, here is our selection for consideration.

Carnival Cruise Line = Coca-Cola

Everyone knows Coca-Cola beyond its high-fructose corn syrup-infused cola soda as a representation of a carefree social lifestyle, and Carnival Cruise Line, with its fleet of Fun Ships, is very much the same. It is an enjoyable tried-and-true vacation for the masses.

Celebrity Cruises = Apple

Apple is a stylish innovator of technology, and Celebrity Cruises is a modern boutique hotel-like line that not only features Apple products onboard but also espouses a philosophy of simplicity in design and premium travel reliability.

Crystal Cruises = Cartier

As one of the luxury lines, Crystal Cruises is akin to Cartier, a fine conglomerate jeweler and watch manufacturer. As Crystal expands its own portfolio of offerings, from yacht to river cruises, its timeless reputation grows as well.

Cunard Line = Swarovski

Both Cunard Line and Swarovski are fashionable classic brands that approach luxury standards, one with a genuine workhorse ocean liner and pair of cruise ships in the premium market and the other with ornamental and functional cut lead glass not unlike precious gems.

Disney Cruise Line = Disney

Disney Cruise Line is the only brand that simultaneously exists within and outside the travel industry. As an entertainment company first and foremost, Disney Cruise Line is most like its other international divisions.

Holland America Line = Buick

Just as Buick is a longtime auto manufacturer with an old-fashioned pedigree that still turns heads, Holland America Line is known for traditional cruising as a modern contender beginning to rebrand itself for the future.

MSC Cruises = Nespresso

Seemingly out of nowhere, the Swiss brand Nespresso has taken the world recently by storm with its premiere automatic coffee makers, and MSC Cruises is set to do the same as a Mediterranean company making inroads in the American market.

Norwegian Cruise Line = Amazon

If you're looking for Earth's biggest selection of goods, Amazon is the place to be, and if you're looking for the greatest choice of dining onboard, Norwegian Cruise Line offers one of the widest selections of complimentary and specialty restaurants.

Royal Caribbean International = Nike

Nike invites people to just do it, and Royal Caribbean International is a cruise line filled to the brim with activities for guests to participate in, from surfing and skydiving by way of a simulator to rock climbing, waterslide riding and ice skating at sea.

Silversea Cruises = Land Rover

Between Silversea Cruises and Silversea Expeditions, the luxury company seemingly ventures out to every international coastline for rugged exploration paired with plush amenities, much as Land Rover goes beyond in comfort, albeit ashore.
