It's that time of year when cruise lines highlight some of their best sales for Black Friday and Cyber Monday following the Thanksgiving holiday. In fact, some of the sales are already active, with even more expected from other cruise lines in the coming days. Let's take a look at this season's deals.
Holland America Line
Ending Nov. 30 is Holland America Line's Thanksgiving Bonus Offer of a double onboard credit valued at up to $600 on select cruises. Additionally, the line can book select flights at up to 50 percent savings with its Flight Ease program.
What's particularly appealing about this sale is that it even applies to cruises on the company's forthcoming new Koningsdam, launching in April 2016. Plus, that's the most onboard credit afforded by any of the listed specials.
MSC Cruises
Only MSC Cruises is showcasing separate Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales, but the offer itself is exactly the same for both. From Nov. 26 to Dec. 2, select sailings on the MSC Divina will be available at up to 30 percent off with the additional incentive of up to $400 in onboard credit. Special sailings, including Mother's Day, Memorial Day and Labor Day cruises, begin at $399 per person.
Especially great for families is that kids sail free on select cruises, and with the recent reintroduction of the Divina to the U.S., new kid and family-friendly activities have been added. Overall, new shows, parties and wine experiences have also joined the ship.
Norwegian Cruise Line
For Black Friday, Norwegian Cruise Line puts forward an opportunity to pick two promotional offers on 3 to 16-day cruises in any cabin category on any sailing reserved more than 30 days prior to departure. Available Freestyle Choice offers to choose from include a free Ultimate Beverage Package, free Specialty Dining Package, free $50 per port shore excursion credits in up to four ports or a free 250-minute Wi-Fi package. Any bookings made in The Haven or a suite will be given all four offers.
Also extended for Black Friday, the line is offering $100 in onboard credit on select South American sailings booked on the Norwegian Sun and reduced deposits on all cruises through the end of June 2016. Collectively, these deals make Norwegian's product, not just on select sailings, considerably more all-inclusive than it usually is. Check out the promo's website here.
Princess Cruises
Princess Cruises is now presenting what it calls its Cyber Week Sale, with fares starting at $249 plus a free "Unlimited Soda & More" package available for kids. The line's website even displays a fun countdown listing the days, hours, minutes and seconds left in the sale. Highlights include four-day West Coast Getaways starting at $319 for a balcony stateroom.
With the sale applying to voyages of short duration and considering the added benefit of the child beverage promotion, it's a perfect sampler cruise for families who have never sailed before.
Royal Caribbean International
Royal Caribbean International is upping the ante with its Thanksgiving Sale through Nov. 29, offering up to 30 percent in savings on last minute sailings.
While the sale only applies to just a few itineraries in the coming months, the largest, and some of the most popular, cruise ships in the world - the Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas - are included, so it might just be the right time to hop onboard if you haven't already.
