Carnival Cruise Line’s new Carnival Vista is currently sailing on its maiden voyage, and the company invites you to join in on the fun as it shares photos and details of a number of its highly anticipated attractions and entertainment.
Among those new that were previously announced are the first IMAX Theater at sea, the SkyRide suspended cycling track and the 455-foot-long psychedelic water tube Kaleid-O-Slide. The latter two are illustrated in the slideshow below as is one of the ship’s new Playlist Productions shows — “America Rocks!”
“Carnival Vista is an absolute ‘wow’ in every respect and we have put together a line-up of entertainment, activities and experiences like nothing else at sea,” said Sarah Beth Reno, vice president of entertainment for Carnival Cruise Line. “Our guests are going to love this ship and their biggest challenge will be trying to choose from among so many different things to do on board.”
The new 187-seat IMAX Theater and reprised Thrill Theater comprise the Carnival Multiplex for a combination of first-run films and interactive cinema, including the horror “Thrillogy" movie experience exclusive to Vista and intended for guests 17 and older. First-run IMAX film pricing is $12.95 for adults and $9.95 for children 12 and under and guests aged 55 and over, and IMAX documentaries and Thrill Theater pricing is $5.50 per person.
The 800-foot-long SkyRide also joins a 270-foot-long ropes course, and the Kaleid-O-Slide is part of the WaterWorks aqua park also featuring a 300-gallon tipping bucket and a classic Twister water slide.
Vista’s new live production shows are additionally as follows:
• “America Rocks!” – A glow stick-waving audience enjoys American rock anthems from Bruce Springsteen, Aerosmith, Styx and Kiss. The concert band features guitars, drums and even a horn section.
• “Amor Cubano” – Described as “A Caribbean Dance Romance,” this show reproduces the ship’s Havana Bar as a seven-piece band performs popular Latin music by the likes of Gloria Estefan and Celia Cruz.
• “Flick” – Celebrating “The Power of Motion Pictures,” this performance highlights cinematic numbers from films such as “Footloose” and “Dirty Dancing.” The main character, Flick, journeys through various genres of movies through music and special effects.
Also, the ship showcases after parties, a Rock-N-Glow 80s Deck Party, an Island Deck Party and even a Clue murder mystery. Returning classics include the Punchliner Comedy Club and Hasbro, The Game Show. Plus, the adults-only area is transformed in the evening into a South Beach-style club for Serenity Nights.
