Always looking to improve its programming, Princess Cruises has unveiled its newest production show in partnership with Stephen Schwartz as well as third annual Culinary Cruise Series featuring Brad Kilgore and Scott Linquist.
"Born to Dance" is the second performance following "Magic to Do" from Oscar, Grammy and Tony Award-winning composer Schwartz crafted for the cruise line. The Broadway legend behind "Wicked," "Godspell" and "Pippin" and director/creator Daniel C. Levine ("Les Miserables," "Mamma Mia!") were on hand in New York aboard the Regal Princess for the premiere.
Other talented input comes in the form of costume design from Tony Award winner William Ivey Long, musical arrangement from Bryan Perri ("Wicked"), choreography from Al Blackstone ("So You Think You Can Dance") and scenic design from Tony Award winner Beowulf Boritt.
The second of four shows that Schwartz is overseeing for Princess is a celebration of professional dancers and tribute to Broadway choreography. The behind-the-scenes story of striving to dance on stage is told through hit numbers from "West Side Story," "A Chorus Line," "Chicago" and more. Famous choreographers and dancers even join live performers virtually.
Along with the Regal, "Born to Dance" is also now performing on the Golden Princess, Grand Princess and Star Princess. As seen in person, "Magic to Do" is an astounding original show, and the next from Schwartz is likely to follow its high quality standards of musical greatness.

As for his fare, he plans to share the likes of Short Rib Wellington with Truffled Mushrooms and Free-Range Chicken, with Popcorn Hollandaise on the Regal.
Additionally, Princess partner and famed chocolatier Norman Love will also be onboard. He too will present several cooking demos and, of course, chocolate tastings.
While not tied to a specific television property like "Top Chef" or "MasterChef," the Culinary Cruise Series is similar to what Celebrity Cruises and Holland America Line have offered respectively.
