Traveling solo is one of the biggest trends in travel at the moment and, while staterooms meant for two are the norm, many companies are catering to those traveling alone by eliminating fees and creating special itineraries just for them.
The Telegraph has rounded up some of the best cruises for single travelers, starting with AmaWaterways’ Bordeaux river cruise.
“Savor the rich flavor of Bordeaux on a river cruise that winds through the heart of this picturesque French wine region, with tours of historic vineyards and tastings in grand chateaux along with guided bike tours through the wine villages of St Emilion and Pomerol,” writes Sara Macefield.
Voyages of Discovery welcomes solo travelers with special get-togethers onboard and shared dinner tables. Macefield recommends their Asia itinerary which sails to Malaysia, Thailand and more.
“Join like-minded travelers on this cultural cruise to Asia where, in addition to on-board lectures, you can explore Kuala Lumpur's mosques and temples; marvel at Brunei's lavish palaces and unspoiled rainforest; and take a longtail boat through Bangkok's floating markets,” she says.

Sail through the Caribbean with Crystal Cruises which also has hosted solo dinners and events.
“Let the Caribbean's captivating beat carry you to the soulful sounds of America's Deep South on this voyage where stops include the castaway beauty of the British Virgin Islands, the upmarket chic of St Barts, and reggae rhythms of Jamaica,” says Masefield.
