There are just a little bit more than three months left to travel this year - do you know where you are going? The UAE's Gulf News has been tracking some of the most popular destinations and here are a few that they recommend and why.
First off, why not head to Italy, suggests guides writer Dona Cherian.
"Venice and Rome are always on the list of loved destinations. Venice with its waterways and gondolas is always otherworldly while Rome boasts architectural and artistic marvels like no other city can," wrote Cherian.
Another suggestion - a little farther afield - is Thailand. It was just named one of the most popular destinations to travel to by Mastercard. When cold weather sets in, it's always nice to warm up on a beautiful beach and Cherian agrees, writing:
"Thailand is a must-visit. Bangkok, the capital city, is known for its vibrant streets and opulent temples and is also the most visited city in Thailand. Other popular places here are Phuket and Pattaya," she said.
For those looking for culture, Jordan can't be beat.

"Jordan is one of the best places you can visit in the Middle East. And if the historical city of Petra, the rolling desert landscape and hospitable people don't move you, floating unaided on the Dead Sea definitely will," Cherian shared.
