Buffalo was just named America's favorite city by Travel + Leisure magazine.
Online voters ranked their favorite destinations based on 65 criteria, such as architecture, restaurants, craft breweries and public parks, The Buffalo News reported.
"Buffalo impressed readers with everything from its affordability to its surprising, high-end dining," Travel + Leisure said.

The marketing organization Visit Buffalo Niagara has worked hard to promote Buffalo by hosting travel writers in the area, The Buffalo News said. And the city has been mentioned more than 200 times in travel publications across the world.
"To get our destination in the top travel magazine and to get this kind of recognition, it's just huge," Visit Buffalo Niagara president and CEO Patrick J. Kaler said. "We've gotten the attention of the world."

Buffalo earned more than 400 votes in the survey, according to The Buffalo News. Trailing Buffalo in the survey results were San Antonio, TX; Providence, RI; and Norfolk, Va.
