Bartending Bill Murray Will Appear At This Brooklyn Bar

Nothing tastes sweeter than tequila poured directly into your glass from Hollywood icon Bill Murray.
And for a fortunate few, that’s perhaps what you will get this weekend as a new Brooklyn bar opens with the man, the myth, the legend tending to the pint and shot glasses of its patrons.
The New York Daily News reported that the 65-year-old star of your favorite movie will make a weekend cameo at his son’s dining destination 21 Greenpoint.
As the report reminds, Murray famously showed up to SXSW in 2010 and tended bar, pouring tequila no matter what patrons had ordered. Essentially, we hope you like that kind of a good time if you get in this weekend.
And as far as seeing Murray, it seems it’s not all that clear what your chances are in getting into 21 Greenpoint to see the star of “Caddyshack,” "Ghostbusters” and “Groundhog Day” fill the night with hilarity.
The NY Daily News spoke with a manager who revealed that initially the soiree was open to those with an invite but continued with the following: “Fans are calling from five hours away saying they want to see him. We're not turning people away. People who have been invited are definitely getting in, and then we'll do our best to accommodate any fans."
Eater NY spoke to a restaurant official who offered: “For overall capacity reasons, this is not an open door event, there will be a guest list.”
As the publication continued, the hope is that some walk-in seats remain into the night. Essentially, we leave it up to you whether you want to brave the subway ride and what is sure to be a long wait in order to enjoy a new hot spot in Brooklyn.
As the publications noted, 21 Greenpoint is in the same location that River Styx once called home. It’s Homer Murray’s new foray into the neighborhood and is described as an “upscale dining spot.”
Even if you strike out this weekend, it certainly warrants some attention on your next trip out to the borough.
However, the fact that one of the funniest men on the planet will be behind the bar should certainly entice tourists who are lucky enough to be in the area this weekend.
