Hilton is no longer one of the "Dirty Dozen."

After the National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE) listed Hilton Hotels & Resorts as one of the "12 leading contributors of sexual exploitation" in January, Hilton Worldwide announced on Monday that it will be phasing out pornographic on-demand content at all of its hotels across the world.

NCOSE declared in January that Hilton Hotels & Resorts-Hilton's flagship brand-profited from sexual exploitation by providing "hardcore pornography movie choices" to guests, "with themes that include: children, incest, rape, sexual slavery and extreme violence."

A statement from Hilton Worldwide read: "We are making immediate changes to our global brand standards to eliminate adult video-on-demand entertainment in all our hotels worldwide. While the vast majority of our properties already do not offer this content today, this content will be phased out of all other hotels subject to the terms of their contracts. We believe in offering our guests a high degree of choice and control during their stays with us, including Wi-Fi on personal devices. However, we have listened carefully to our customers and have determined that adult video-on-demand entertainment is not in keeping with our company's vision and goals moving forward."

In turn, NCOSE has encouraged travelers to show their gratitude to Hilton by thanking the major hospitality company, whether that be via an online petition, phone or social media.

"We want to publicly thank Hilton for its decision to create a safe and positive environment for all of its customers," said Dawn Hawkins, executive director of NCOSE, in a statement. "Hilton has taken a stand against sexual exploitation. Pornography not only contributes to the demand for sex trafficking, which is a serious concern in hotels, but it also contributes to child exploitation, sexual violence, and lifelong porn addictions. The National Center on Sexual Exploitation applauds Hilton Hotels for recognizing these harms, and is glad to announce that Hilton Hotels will be removed from the Dirty Dozen List."

Hilton now joins major hospitality brands such as Ritz-Carlton, Marriott, Omni, Drury and Nordic Choice Hotels that do not offer pornographic content at any of their hotels.
