Following Tuesday's election, the countdown will begin until Inauguration Day on January 20, 2017.
While many Americans will descend on Washington, D.C. to take part in history, the commencement of the next U.S. President's four-year team isn't the only reason travelers will want to consider a getaway to the nation's capital this coming winter.
Kimpton hotels is set to roll out a series of Inauguration Day packages across its 10 Washington, D.C. properties, including the Inauguration's a Ball Package, which will be available at all 10 hotels from Jan. 17 to Jan. 23, including the Kimpton George Hotel, the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Washington D.C., the Kimpton Mason & Rook Hotel, the Kimpton Donovan Hotel, the Kimpton Carlyle Dupont Circle Hotel, the Kimpton Glover Park Hotel, the Kimpton Hotel Palomar Washington D.C., the Kimpton Topaz Hotel, the Kimpton Rouge Hotel and the Kimpton Hotel Madera.
For an additional $45 on top of the hotel's daily rate, guests will receive deluxe accommodations, a bottle of champagne at check-in, a pair of commemorative 2017 presidential inauguration sunglasses, a $50 daily dining credit and late check-out Jan. 21-23.
For $2,000 per night, guests staying at the Kimpton Glover Park can score one of the best views in the capital this upcoming January. The Red, White and View Inauguration Package at Kimpton's new Wisconsin Ave property includes a room with a view of the National Mall, a toast of champagne upon arrival, limo service for the night, a personal stylist, commemorative gloves and scarves, dinner for two and the choice of in-room facial or body scrub.

Meanwhile, two miles southeast on New Hampshire Ave, the four-star Kimpton Carlyle Dupont Circle Hotel — which opened last fall — will offer the Presidential Power Couple Package for visiting couples looking to impress at an inaugural ball or two. The $25,000 package includes a four-night stay inside the hotel's three-room Oka Doner Suite — which is set to debut next month — $10,000 toward a designer gown and suit, limo service from start to finish, hair and makeup services, private concierge, a $1,000 dining credit to The Riggsby and nightly champagne turndown service.
Just a 15-minute walk away, the new Kimpton Mason & Rook Hotel will offer the Presidential Treatment Inauguration Package starting at $5,000 per night. The package includes accommodations in a Premier Spa Suite, a pair of in-room spa treatments, in-room hair and makeup service, a $100 daily dining credit, a VIP nighttime tour of the capital, after-hours shopping at Shinola's Logan Circle store, a commemorative bottle of Jos. A. Magnus Bourbon and a selection of watches to wear for an inaugural ball appearance.

Across the street from Union Station on Capitol Hill, the newly-renovated Kimpton George Hotel will offer the $10,000 Presidential Suite Package just in time for Inauguration Day. The package includes a five-night stay in the hotel's Presidential Suite from Jan. 18 to Jan. 23, a $1,000 dining credit, private car service for the duration of your stay, tailoring services available on-demand, a private tour of George Washington's Mount Vernon Estate and a framed copy of the first U.S. President's Inaugural Address from 1789.
Guests will also receive the ultimate inauguration-inspired nightly turndown service, including a rotating in-room bar cart featuring Washington's favorite liquors and bubble bath service upon request.
Elsewhere in Washington, D.C., the recently-renovated Kimpton Hotel Palomar will offer a pair of Inauguration Day packages, including the First Family Package and the Inaugural Ball Vanity Spa Suite Package. Both packages are available for stays from Jan. 17 to Jan. 23 and cost $25,000.
The former includes five-night accommodations for up to a dozen guests, a private photographer, daily flower delivery, reserved private dining space and a private in-room welcome reception, while the latter package will include accommodations inside the hotel's new Vanity Spa Suite, professional in-room makeup and hair-styling, on-demand tailoring services and a customizable in-room bar, among other amenities.
