A marketing campaign from Hyatt Regency -- now in its second year -- aims to take your mind off home and instead direct your attention to all the wonderful things that make traveling away from your city a joyous occasion.
The campaign is aptly titled “It’s Good Not To Be Home,” which we understand has nothing to do with your spouse constantly subjecting you to their choice of reality-TV show. No, this campaign is meant to highlight business as a magical endeavor rather than a chore so many of you have to go through for the respective company for whom you work.
Sandra Cordova Micek, senior vice president global brands, Hyatt, explained in 2015 the impetus behind the marketing push via a press release: “We heard loud and clear from travelers around the world that while it is good to be home, there is an inherent freedom in traveling and breaking from routine, making new connections and experiencing new things.”
Here’s a promotional video that illustrates the campaign wonderfully, showing how corporate travelers and family vacationers enjoy stepping away from their comfort zones:
Micek continues, “This campaign lets travelers know that we not only understand, we agree. That’s why we are celebrating the simple human truths about travel that sometimes being away from home can actually be good. The Hyatt Regency brand gives guests everything they need in one place – fantastic hotels and resorts around the world, caring staff, excellent food, and the list goes on.”
As for what you can expect, the company explains that various parts of the campaign should roll out to travelers through October 14.
It also means some collaborations with the likes of Fast Company and Inc., which will culminate in a contest that eventually grants glory to two lucky individuals.
Micek explains on the new contest for 2016 that utilizes the hashtag #HyattRegencyContest to award two creative individuals a chance to actually implement thier innovative thoughts on what would make their particular stay so good that they forget about home for a bit.
Micek stated recentl: "We’re excited to debut the latest extension of the campaign with Fast Company and Inc. to delve even deeper into why it’s good not to be home and to discover new ideas for making the business travel experience even better with the help of some of today’s most creative entrepreneurs. We can’t wait to hear about the hotel innovations these travelers and entrepreneurs come up with and how we might help make them a reality at Hyatt Regency locations around the world."
Of course, we all love opening the door when we get home and letting the comfort of familiarity wash over us. We can kick up our feet and almost sink into the refreshing embrace of home, but there are myriad reasons we experience a similar sensation when we let a hotel room door close behind us as we plop on the bed, ready to start our vacation or business trip.
Hyatt is about to show you a bunch of them.
