Dubbed as everything from buddy trips to dudes’ getaways, the “Mancation” continues to gain ground at appealing destinations where it’s all about fun. Grand Solmar Land’s End Resort & Spa is no exception, as it puts a luxury spin on this travel trend with on-site perks and off-site recreation that merge for primo weekend getaways.
Located in one of the Baja's most pristine locations that’s both removed yet within walking distance of Cabo San Lucas' marina and lively action, Grand Solmar Land's End welcomes testosterone for a cut-loose weekend of wild and mild recreation. Guys can get into surfing, scuba diving, stand up paddleboarding, sports fishing, golfing, mountain biking and ATVing.
When it’s time to relax and revive aching muscles, they can plug into a little pampering with treatments and therapies at Sea Spa at Land’s End. Nothing says “dude spa day” quite like a massage in a private cabana overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
"The fishing here in Cabo is world-renowned, and I have had the pleasure of seeing countless groups smiling wide after an all-day expedition – including King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden who we had the pleasure of hosting earlier this year," said Ricardo Orozco, Solmar Hotels & Resorts' vp of operations.
Orozco adds, "Often times, guests choose to take advantage of our ‘Hook & Cook’ program that allows them to enjoy their catch-of-the-day for dinner prepared by one of our fantastic chefs."

While prime fishing season is from November through March, Los Cabos’ generous waters pleasantly appease anglers year round in the “Marlin Capital of the World.” Solmar Group baits those into the sport with excursions on its private fleet of 28-39-foot boats that can be booked prior to or upon arrival at the Baja retreat.
Vessels are geared with a captain and mate that can arrange mini-tournaments in the spirit of friendly competition. Ideal for four, 28-foot boats are $460 USD for four-hour outings and $575 for eight hours on the water. With a sleek, fast hull, twin-engine 39-foot boats haul up to six for $1,150 and $1,435 respectively.
Afterwards, the resort's Hook & Cook program lets these fearless fishermen enjoy their fresh catch prepped in a variety of dishes for $25 per person.
The resort also features a bevy of dude-centric in-house activities that include tequila tastings and catching NFL action at the Sports Bar. For a healthier option, the fitness center helps travelers flex their muscle and maintain their fitness routine while on the road.
Depending on the number traveling, Grand Solmar’s “man cave” accommodations options include two-, three- and four-bedroom penthouse suites. The latter wows with 6,232-square-feet of luxury that includes a fully equipped kitchen, five bathrooms and a decadent beachfront private pool with adjoining Jacuzzi.
