While prime fishing season is from November through March, Los Cabos' generous waters pleasantly appease anglers year round in the "Marlin Capital of the World." Solmar Group baits those into the sport with excursions on its private fleet of 28-39-foot boats that can be booked prior to or upon arrival at the Baja retreat.
Vessels are geared with a captain and mate that can arrange mini-tournaments in the spirit of friendly competition. Ideal for four, 28-foot boats are $460 USD for four-hour outings and $575 for eight hours on the water. With a sleek, fast hull, twin-engine 39-foot boats haul up to six for $1,150 and $1,435 respectively.
Afterwards, the resort's Hook & Cook program lets these fearless fishermen enjoy their fresh catch prepped in a variety of dishes for $25 per person.
The resort also features a bevy of dude-centric in-house activities that include tequila tastings and catching NFL action at the Sports Bar. For a healthier option, the fitness center helps travelers flex their muscle and maintain their fitness routine while on the road.
Depending on the number traveling, Grand Solmar's "man cave" accommodations options include two-, three- and four-bedroom penthouse suites. The latter wows with 6,232-square-feet of luxury that includes a fully equipped kitchen, five bathrooms and a decadent beachfront private pool with adjoining Jacuzzi.
