Costa Rica is famed for its biodiversity and abundance of adventure and outdoor activities. But adventure travel doesn’t have to mean sacrificing comfort and luxury. Far from it.
The JW Marriott Guanacaste manages to effortless combine an authentic Costa Rican experience with all the extras you’ve come to expect from Marriott. This luxury hacienda-style resort sits oceanfront and is the only internationally branded property located in close proximity to Tamarindo.
Here, guests can explore Costa Rico’s rainforest one day, and pamper themselves with a restful spa treatment the next. Guests can also arrange a visit to a nearby volcano, or engage in activities such as zip-lining and white-water rafting.
It all makes for a spectacular setting, and here are a few reasons why.
Accommodations. Each room features a balcony with either a garden, pool or ocean view. The rooms themselves are a luxury experience in their own right: spacious marble bathrooms are equipped with roomy, oversized bathtubs and double vanities, while beds feature pillow-top mattresses and deep featherbeds, guaranteed to make even early risers want to linger in bed. High-speed, Wi-Fi access is also available.
Food & Drink. With five restaurants and two bars, guests are spoilt for choice. Azul Grill, the resort’s beach front restaurant offers amazing views of the Pacific as well as authentic Italian cuisines, while Tamarine features Asian-fusion cuisine. Sabanero provides guests with a genuine Guanacastecan steakhouse experience, whereas those seeking international cuisines with a Costa Rican influence will want to sample the fare at Mansita. Nau Lounge and Bar offers smalls bites and cocktails, while the Azul Pool Bar is the perfect place for a lite bite and a cocktail, poolside.
