United Airlines has been all over the news recently for a string of negative stories, and the bad publicity continued as a flight from Houston to Ecuador was delayed after a scorpion was reportedly discovered on the plane.
According to The Associated Press, United Airlines Flight 1035 was preparing for takeoff from George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston Thursday when a passenger claims a scorpion emerged from his clothing.
Paramedics were called to the scene and examined the man who claimed he saw the scorpion. While it remains unclear if the small arachnid was ever found, the medical team determined the passenger had not been stung.
In response, United Airlines removed all of the passengers from the flight and had them board another plane. The flight finally took off three hours after it was scheduled to depart, and the airline provided passengers with a meal voucher for the inconvenience.

As shocking as it sounds, scorpions being found on planes are not uncommon. In April, another man flying with United Airlines said a scorpion fell from an overhead bin and landed on his head. The man then removed the arachnid from his hair and was stung in the hand.
In 2015, a passenger waiting for Alaska Airlines Flight 567 to take off from Los Angeles International Airport was also stung by a scorpion. The woman was treated by medics but did not return to the plane.
