The 7-foot, 205-pound dolphin was quickly cared for by SeaWorld's veterinarians and animal care staff.

According to the SeaWorld Cares blogger, they "immediately began providing fluids and antibiotics for the dolphin and conducted a complete health assessment."

The dolphin will continue to receive "round-the-clock care" and although he is considered "critical" the team at SeaWorld "remain cautiously optimistic at this time, and hopeful the animal will continue to improve."

For more than five decades SeaWorld animal experts have been there for animals in need, having helped more than 29,000 ill, injured, orphaned and abandoned animals.
